El Guacamayo Jungle Camp is a short Drive from San Ignacio in Cayo District, Belize, located on the bank of the Macal River. With a quick canoe ride across the river and Mayan pathway climb; you will find yourself in a sunlit clearing where the Thatched-Roof Cabanas blend into the Jungle. Take a short walk up to an un-excavated Mayan Temple, or sip your drink atop a Mayan lookout point as you watch you friends fishing or tubing in the Macal River below. Of course the primary attraction is the comfortable peace of just being in a place like this, surrounded by Mayan Ruins and Jungle Birdsong.

Bird Watching - There are over 500 species of Tropical birds in Belize 300 of these are known to be this area. Bird watchers will regularly see: Laughing Falcon, Common Black Hawk, Owls, Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds, Montezuma Oropendola, and many other Bird species.

Hiking - Naturalists will love Hiking the Trails to see the myriad of other forms of life that inhabit the area. Expect to see Gibnot, Deer, Iguana, and many other Lizards, Turtles, Frogs, and Toads, Snakes, NightWalker Monkeys, and even the occasional Howler Monkeys, Tapir, or Jaguar. See growing: Vampire tree, vines of all kinds, Cahon tree, Trumpet Tree, Hibiscus, Aloe Vera, and other Medicinal Plants. Relaxing - Of course if all you want to do is sit-back, read, draw, paint, take pictures, think - or just chill, this is the place. Mayan Meals are cooked over a wood-fire using our organically grown produce and served hot and hearty in the Dining Cabana. Laundry can be done on-site. Internet is available. El Guacamayo Jungle Camp can accommodate individuals or groups to a maximum of 15 people at once.
